Karnataka Government Urges Vigilance Amidst Nipah Virus Outbreak

  1. Nipah Virus Precautions: In light of the Nipah virus outbreak in neighboring Kerala, the Karnataka Government has issued a circular advising the general public to refrain from unnecessary travel to the affected areas within the state.
  2. Constitutional Education Mandate: The Karnataka Government has made it mandatory for schools and colleges to include the Preamble to the Constitution in their curriculum.
  3. Cauvery River Dispute: Amidst ongoing negotiations surrounding the Cauvery river water sharing dispute with Tamil Nadu, the Karnataka government has submitted a plea to the Supreme Court. They argue that due to limited water resources, they cannot release an increased amount of water to the southern state.
  4. Ganesh Chaturthi Festival: The South Western Railway has announced the operation of special festival trains between Yesvantpur and Murudeshwar in preparation for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
